Meet the Orangutans

was created from a love for the rainforest, its wildlife and the people who call Bukit Lawang home.

We want to share more than a glimpse of the jungle. For us, it's not just about seeing wildlife. 

To see is to spot. 

To meet is to slow down, observe and learn. 

We believe tourism can bring real benefits to the local community. By creating opportunities for local guides, porters, cooks, camp workers and others, tourism can give more people a reason to value and protect the forest. 

We are committed to reducing single-use plastics on our trips ans supporting responsible tourism and conservation in Bukit Lawang. 

That is why we chose the name 

Meet the Orangutans.

For us, it means more than simply seeing wildlife. It means connecting, respecting and protecting the incredible rainforest we are lucky to call home. 

Founder and Head Guide

I have been guiding in Bukit Lawang for 16 years  and still personally guide guests into the forest today.

Over the years, I have gained countless experiences in the jungle, from watching wildlife and exploring hidden trails to swimming in forest rivers and spending nights sourrounded by nature.

I truly love this way of life. For me, every trip is an adventure, and I enjoy sharing the beauty, surprises and stories of the rainforest with our guests.
